While the brightest depths of Subzea are the home of the Red Dwarves, they are far from the only ones to have settled away from the light of the sun. The Batlings, in fact, have settled there specifically to avoid it, and as such, are unlikely to be seen roaming the surface. Of course, even belowground, they have a penchant to keep to themselves.
Batling Traits
Size
Batlings are Medium creatures.
Score Increase
Your Pulchritude score increases by 1.
Speed
You can walk at 30 FPR, and fly at 60 FPR.
Fangs
Survival can be a challenge, and so the Maize has given you a practical means of helping yourself out. Your fangs are a 2d4 piercing weapon, and can, once per rest, be used to drain energy from another creature. This initially restores only the 2d4 dealt in terms of HP regained, but at 5th level, you may regain another d4 on top of the damage dealt, and yet another at level 10.
Sonar
Your eyes weren’t really built for sight, and as such, you can see very little compared to most races. You can, however, echolocate like the best of them, and with a quick subvocal check, you can ascertain the shapes and forms of your surroundings, regardless of petty concerns like light levels.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Thwip and Common.
